5. Member commitment & agreement

Member Commitment :
professional conduct and respect, participation and engagement, collaboration and community support, ethical business
practices, confidentiality and privacy, and membership fees and policies.
Please read and acknowledge each statement.
1. No Guarantee of Business Results — I understand that the organization provides opportunities for networking, education, collaboration, relationship building, and business development. The organization does not guarantee referrals, revenue, contracts, partnerships, funding, or other specific business results.
2. Independent Business Relationships — I acknowledge that each member operates independently and is solely responsible for their own business activities, decisions, products, services, representations, and professional conduct. Membership does not constitute an endorsement, certification, or guarantee of any member’s qualifications, services, financial standing, or business practices.
3. No Agency, Partnership, or Joint Venture — Membership does not create an employment relationship, legal partnership, joint venture, franchise, or agency relationship between the organization and any member, unless separately established through a written agreement.
4. Member Due Diligence — I understand that I am responsible for conducting my own due diligence before entering into business transactions, agreements, referrals, investments, or partnerships with other members. The organization is not responsible for independently verifying every member’s claims, credentials, or business performance.
5. Limitation of Responsibility — To the extent permitted by applicable law, the organization is not responsible for disputes, losses, damages, debts, or business outcomes arising from transactions or relationships between members. Nothing in this form waives rights or obligations that cannot legally be waived or excluded.
6. Membership Approval and Termination — I understand that submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into the organization. Membership is subject to the organization’s review and approval. The organization may suspend, decline, or terminate membership in accordance with its governing documents, membership policies, and applicable law.
7. Communications and Publicity — I understand that the organization may use the contact information I provide to communicate membership updates, meeting notices, events, and relevant organizational information. Any separate marketing consent, public member directory listing, or use of my image, likeness, or business logo will be subject to the organization’s applicable consent and privacy policies.
I understand that membership is subject to confirmation by 9th Island Business Connections. I agree to support the organization's mission of fostering authentic relationships, business collaboration, economic growth, and community connection through the spirit of aloha.
